📖 Dosimetric Indices & Metric References
1. Homogeneity Index (HI)

Evaluates dose uniformity inside the target volume (PTV) according to ICRU 83 protocol.

HI = (D2% - D98%) / D50%
  • D2%: Dose to 2% volume (Hot Spot).
  • D98%: Dose to 98% volume (Cold Spot).
  • D50%: Median dose to 50% volume.
Target: ≤ 0.20
2. Conformity Index (CI)

Measures volumetric coverage of the 95% prescription dose relative to total PTV.

CI = V95% / VPTV_Total
  • V95%: Total volume receiving 95% dose.
  • VPTV_Total: Total planning target volume.

Target: Close to 1.1
3. Gradient Index (GI)

Evaluates steepness outside PTV to protect surrounding normal tissues.

GI = V50% / V100%
  • V50%: Total volume receiving 50% dose.
  • V100%: Total volume receiving 100% dose.

Target: ≤ 5.0
